IT is 1785 and we are deep in the hold of a doomed explorer’s ship, setting sail into unknown waters. We are surrounded by exotic animals in cages and sailors swing in their hammocks. The great vessel sways under our feet, we begin to feel seasick and the air turns cold as we reach the frozen wastes of Alaska.
