PRACTICALLY enveloped by dense forest on the predominantly volcanic Isabela island in the Galapagos sits Scalesia Lodge. Mature pepper ferns, sword ferns, towering cacao trees and dagger-edged elephant grass are dominant in this arable landscape. Dotted within are 16 safari-style tents which wouldn't look out of place on Africa's vast open plains.
